About the Workshop

The International Workshop on Gallium Oxide and Related Materials (IWGO) will be held on November 3-6, 2015 at the Katsura Campus of Kyoto University in Kyoto City, Japan.

The IWGO will be the first international workshop specializing in gallium oxide (Ga2O3) and related materials such as indium oxide (In2O3) and tin oxide (SnO2). The workshop brings together scientists and engineers working on these new oxide semiconductors with an aim to stimulate discussion and facilitate collaboration. The topics of special relevance to IWGO include but are not limited to:

  • Growth
    • Bulk crystal growth
    • Epitaxial thin film growth
    • Alloys, multilayered systems, and heterostructures
    • Nanostructures
    • Heteroepitaxial growth of nitrides and other semiconductors on Ga2O3, In2O3, SnO2, etc
  • Characterization
    • Structural characterization
    • Optical characterization
    • Electrical characterization
  • Processing
    • Processing and fabrication technologies for optoelectronics
      Contacts
    • Control of conduction type (n-type, p-type)
  • Devices
    • Optical devices
    • Electronic devices
    • Energy harvesting devices
    • Sensors
  • Theory and Simulation
    • Band structure
    • Doping
    • Defect identification, control, and modeling
    • Transport
